Club Report Summer 2003

C
ongratulations to Susan and Jim Chrisp on the birth of their son Josie and to Liz and Eric Luke on the arrival of their daughter Katelyn.

The Thunder Bay Schutzhund club doesn’t have any babies to announce but we would like to welcome our newest member, John Koropeski and his GSD pup Timber. Now that boy has food drive.

Our fields finally greened up enough that we were able to get out tracking in the middle of May in preparation for our trial with Lance Collins on May 31st.

Bob’s young female Corrie has been progressing in leaps and bounds and should have no trouble achieving her BH. Ken Kirkby and Erica will also try for a BH along with our lone out of town visitor, Bob Smith from Kenora with his GSD Chico.

Claire has been working hard with her big boy Cabre who weighs in at 90 pounds and counting. They are not far off of a BH either but she has a few more exercises to teach.

Oh by the way, if anyone has a full set of goalie equipment lying around, we could use it right away. Claire will be starting her formal recall soon and, well, Cabre comes in a weeee bit fast. Kinda like a freight train with no brakes.

Congratulation to Capital City for a full and successful trial. Good job to Ulla and Brody on their SchH1 and to Cathie Pierson and Zack for their High in Trial and excellent marks so early in the season. You must have been tracking since March in Southern Ontario to get a 98! Yah, were jealous but we’ll get over it. Hard work pays off and we’ll just have to work a little harder to catch up.

We were saddened to hear that Sandy Cormier of Calgary lost her 4 year old GSD, Riggs to a sudden illness. They made a super team and we know he is greatly missed.

Good luck to everyone participating in Regionals across the country and we’ll see you at Nationals.

Happy training and don’t forget the deet!
